Believers in Malaysia have been praying for revival.
Now, I’ve prayed for revival back in the States, for the churches in America.
I’ve prayed that more people would come to faith in Jesus,
that the church building would be filled,
that people in the churches would take their faith seriously and act upon that faith in fullness, not fooling themselves in just mere religious activity.
But here in Malaysia, true revival here
means revival that would reach out and touch the Muslims,
revival where Muslims would come to faith in Jesus Christ.
They have been praying for revival,
but revival has not yet come here,
because the church is not yet ready to count the cost of that.
You see, it is illegal to evangelize to Muslims.
Evangelism to Muslims could mean prison, or even death.
Now I’ve been willing to die for my faith, not to deny Jesus even to the point of death or so that by my death a group of people might be saved and come to faith in Jesus. Perhaps even I might lay my life on the line for a friend who is in eminent danger.
But this kind of revival–this kind of death–isn’t for a whole group of people. This is for individual people.
Would I be willing to put my life on the line just for ONE person to come to Christ?
What if I didn’t even know for certain if they would come to Christ,
would I still be willing to risk it all
–even my life–
just for the chance to SHARE Jesus with somebody, a stranger?
Is this the kind of faith that I have,
to hold my life so openly
and to value Jesus so highly?
This isn’t about how often do I go to church. This isn’t about lust or masturbation, pornography or sex. This isn’t about the dos and don’ts of Christianity. This is about real and authentic life and faith in Jesus.
This is when true revival comes.
It has been said that
the blood of the martyrs is the seed of the Church.
But perhaps it is not that the Church spreads when martyrdom occurs,
but perhaps when the Church truly steps up
in faith and in fellowship
to grow up and to grow out,
perhaps that is what brings martyrdom.
ARE WE WILLING TO HAVE THAT KIND OF FAITH?
