I live in Kigali, Rwanda this month in the village of Kabuga. I was in a fog the night we arrived. Sitting in a Mini Bis- taxi, curled up hovering over our backpacks as they sat on our laps, I thought to myself; here we go again, a new home, new people, new ministry, new stories and a new country! I was somewhere in the middle of being ecstatic at the fact that I was actually in Rwanda my sixth month and sixth country and feeling so tired that I wanted to be in the states in my bed.

Rwanda has been exhausting- so many people, so many cars and motorbikes but at the same time our home has just offered us so much rest. I live in a beautiful home this month. It’s a YELLOW house with white pillars on every corner and a huge gray brick wall surrounding it. The weather is beautiful, tropical. Our host mom Slyvie is phenomenal; she treats us as if we were her own children. At one point I was sick and she woke me up asking me if I wanted tea. She traveled all the way to the pharmacy to get me medicine. She has been extremely nurturing to us.

This is what my day looks like.

– Woken up by the family I live with; cooking, cleaning, showering, music….
– Talk to Jesus
– GET OUT OF BED

– WALK up the hill, weave through crowds of humans/bikes/babies/women with things on their heads/rude men/locals yelling Mzungu; white person.
