HE provides.
Two simple words, but when they are brought together they perfectly describe the way this month has gone in El Salvador. The way my World Race has gone. Hopefully the way I will live the rest of my life.
As most of you know my team is doing ‘Unsung Heroes’ this month, meaning we don’t have a consistent place to stay, transportation or any set plans. We’re spending our time moving all over the city of San Salvador trying to connect with missionaries and NGO’s in the area. We’ve asked a lot of the Lord this month…and he has provided!
We needed contacts and information of people doing the work of the Lord in this country:
– HE provided names and numbers for all kinds of ministries. We had people back in America we didn’t even know sending us information because they had stumbled across our blog.
We needed places to stay since we can’t afford a hostel every night:
– An orphanage hosted us the first weekend and let us use their kitchen to cook.
– A missionary family on the coast hosted us this past weekend and cooked incredible meals while let us use their house as a place of rest and reflection.
– Our team is currently split in two groups and being hosted by multiple ministries, spread out over the city this entire week.
People have been gracious enough to buy some of our meals, open up their homes or offices to us, even drive us around town in their personal transportation.
A month that started with uncertainty and unknown has been filled with a simple truth…HE provides.
I am spending this month literally asking God to providing my lodging. My transportation. Some of my food. Our next step as a team.
What kind of a life would I lead if this was my approach to every step of life? He provided financially for me to be on the World Race, and he’s provided opportunities in life before this…doors that opened up that I never could have walked through on my own.
BUT what if my faith in the Lord’s provision was steadfast in every aspect of life?
What if yours was?
Let’s take that pledge together….to live a life of faith and boldness, knowing that HE will provide. Not always in the way we imagine it. Not always with the timing we desire…but HE will provide.
HE provides.
I’ve experienced it in my life….have you?
