Where do you put your faith? We would all love to say “well
in God of course” but how true is that?
How did you feel when you found out Obama is going to be the
next president? I was sitting in a
hotel room with my team somewhere in China and I cried a little bit. Now what does that say for my
faith? Where am I putting my
faith, in the government? That does not make sense. They are just lost humans
like you and me.
I heard a wise man say one time “I am first a Christian then
a member of my church then an American.”
1 Timothy tells us a lot about where our faith needs to lie, such as in
1 Tim 6:9 it says people who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap
and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and
destruction. So when the stock
market falls were will your faith stand? Where will your money go? How about in a bank just to keep it
safe? How about put twice as much
in the offering plate that next Sunday. We take so much for granted and are
cush. Americans live where we can own a Bible and yell, “Jesus loves you” when
and wherever you want. How about
just the fact that someone has praised the name of God in the town you live in
and someone has prayed for you by name.
Being in China, I learned a lot about not taking our
religious freedoms for granted. You
