Australian Ministry Update!

Breaking News –This just in folks, Trumpets of One are headed to Brisbane Australia as you read this!

Yep, that is right everybody!  Say goodbye to New Zealand and helloooooo to Australia!  As much as we absolutely loved our time with the Kiwi’s God plan for us has now turned to the Aussies.  It was a little difficult to leave all of the friends we made at El Rancho, but the send off they gave us encouraged us to finish the course with which God has given us.  So with that, lots of hugs, and a few tears we hopped on a bus for Auckland where we will then fly out to Brisbane tomorrow morning.

Quick awesome God story…So all of the teams had planned to stay in Brisbane for 2 days as they waited for their planes to take them to other parts around the country.  Well, Australia is a pretty expensive country.  The hostels here are a bit out of our price range so we went on a prayer hunt to find a church or somebody that could possible house us for a couple of days.  Slowly but surely a few locations popped up, but nothing that worked that well with our needs.  Our logistics girl Jess worked non-stop for all of us trying to find free locations for everybody.  Needless to say, after about three days she began feeling a little bit of the stress of find places for us.  But we knew that God would provide as He always does.

Well last night, our last at El Rancho.  We were given a beautiful Maori farewell, which included speeches, songs, and even a Hangi! (Hangi literally means an underground oven.  The men took meat and vegetables and created this underground oven with hot iron and dirt and cooked pork, chicken, beef, potatoes, pumpkins in the ground! It was awesome).  Anyway, after we all said our good byes and took pictures we took some time to praise God for all that He did in the past month.  It was a perfect way to end an incredible month.  We rested at the Master’s feet and just soaked up His love and encouragement through the stories of how God worked in our lives this month.  But after we all dispersed to pack up for our trip today…things got even more exciting.

I was chatting with Rob in the cafe with Jesse came running in with here computer.  “Hey!  I have to read this email to you,” she exclaimed!  As she smiled with excitement she read an email from two people we have never met, yet told us they would be delighted to house 45 racers at their their house and the neighbors next door.  Not only that, they have a pool we can use, and they will even provide some meals for us!  Literally 11 o’clock the night before we leave, the body of Christ rises up and provides for us accommodations beyond our wildest dreams.  Haha, man I love being a child of God!

Okay, so I’m sure you all are wondering about what ministry in Australia will look like.  The Trumpets of One will be traveling with Wrecked 52:7 to Byron Bay along with three N squad teams.  Byron Bay is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world and therefore packed with tourists and vacationers.  The exciting thing about our ministry this month is that we don’t have a specific contact.  The month will act similar to an Ask the Lord (ATL) month where we will get before the Lord and ask Him what He wants us to do!  A big part of the month will be us meeting people on the beach and getting the share the Gospel of Christ with them.  Ever since I went to San Diego with Campus Crusade I have loved evangelism, especially beach evangelism, so I couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity!  God also gave me a vision for meeting up with some vacationers who will be there for a week or two and then just becoming friends with them.  I can see us hanging out on the beach with them, going out at night with them, just living life with them.  They won’t just hear our words but will get to see how our lives reflect Christ as well!

This month will be very different than last.  At El Rancho, everything was planned out to the minute for the most part.  We knew what was expected of us, and how we would serve.  This month however, we have no guidelines!  That is where we really need all of you.  Please pray for us that we would seek the face of the Lord.  That we would rest in His presence and clearly hear His voice. Many on the team are nervous and new with initiative evangelism, so please pray for boldness and a holy desire and passion for sharing the freedom in Christ with those stuck in the bondage of the world.  Pray that our lives would be transformed by being in the presence of God every second of the day.

I can’t wait to see what God is going to do.  Because if we really are hearing His voice…well then supernatural things are going to happen.  Ahhhh, this is going to be awesome, thanks in advance for the prayers.  I can’t wait to share with you everything God is going to do!
