Oh and my project director here in San Diego had this quote today. I thought about making it a blog in itself, but I think it will suffice to let you reflect on its impact yourself…
“Do not let the things you CANNOT do, stop you from doing the things that you CAN do.”
How many times do we get overwhelmed by the immensity of a situation and end up shrinking back? Instead of doing the most with what we have, we feel defeated before we even started and so we don’t even start. We can’t save the planet by picking up a few pieces of trash or recycling some coke cans, but why should that stop us from picking up those pieces of trash or recycling those cans?
By myself I cannot change the course of the United States. By myself I cannot bring the gospel to everyone on the planet. By myself I cannot change the world. But I WILL NOT let that stop me from what I can do. I can share the gospel with total strangers. I can share the gospel with my friends. I can share the gospel with my family. I can love my neighbors. I can shine as a light for Christ on this earth. I can live in the unity of the faith.
I will not let the things I cannot do stop me from doing the things that I can do.
I think that’s my new mantra
(I know I said I wasnt going to write a blog on this quote…but whatever. It’s my blog, and that quote pumps me up)
