Dear family, friends, supporters, and prayer partners;
God has been doing a lot in my life! It wasn’t much more than a year ago when God opened my eyes to my lack of vision and direction. Don’t get me wrong, I had a good job working construction in Manhattan, Kansas and was content with where I was. However, God knew I needed to break away from complacently swinging a hammer if I was going to accomplish His will for me. He was showing me His greater plan for my life. His desire was for me to pursue missions overseas!
I thought to myself, “What? Like my parents did? Just… uproot and leave?”
And God simply responded with: “Yes, and right now that’s all you need to know.”
So here I am pursuing something called the World Race through an organization called Adventures In Missions! The opportunity I have before me is to travel to 11 countries over the course of 11 months beginning this October. The specific countries I will be going to are:
Costa Rica,
Nicaragua,
Honduras,
Guatemala,
Malaysia,
Thailand,
Cambodia,
Philippines,
Rwanda,
Uganda,
and Kenya!
As I spend a month in each of these countries I will have the privilege of partnering with local churches and ministries to serve the people there. My team and I will be working with widows, orphans, women and children in prostitution because of human trafficking, the homeless, and more importantly all of those who are spiritually lost! Our jobs will be to serve and reach out to them in practical ways, as well as bring the Truth of the Gospel into their lives. What an opportunity this is for me! I hardly feel worthy to be a part of such an amazing mission!
The crazy and cool part about an opportunity like this is that me and my teammates are leaving the country bringing nothing but our back packs as tightly packed as we can! We’ll be living in our tents all 11 months and basically camping the whole time so we can go wherever the Lord needs us as readily as possible. We will be living very simply so that our entire focus is sure to be on the ministry at hand. That will ultimately be done through sharing the Gospel. In the midst of that, however, we’ll be feeding the hungry, clothing the cold and needy, building whatever the community needs to keep the ministry going, evangelizing, and teaching the children all as a way of serving where it counts the most.
Our mission will be the same all 11 months though it may look different in each country we serve. I cannot wait to begin, but I cannot do this on my own. I have to raise $16,561 in order to cover all of the expenses for this trip. My first deadline to meet is $5,000 by July 22nd. The deadlines I have after that are $10,000 by September 16th, $13,000 by November 13th, and then be fully funded by January 31st. I need your help to make this happen! I need a support team back home to support me in prayer and in funds. I want YOU to be a part of that support team! I humbly ask for you to be praying for my team and myself, that God would use us mightily to advance His kingdom through our service. Your support in this area would be invaluable! But I also ask for you to prayerfully consider supporting me financially through a monthly commitment as well. Some of you who are reading this are already supporting me and I can’t thank you enough!
Please keep spreading the word to all of your friends and family about this ministry that is taking place! Refer them here to my blog and/or directly to me so I can personally invite them to be apart of this mission. The more others hear about what God is doing, the more we can grow in our unity as the Body of Christ with one heart towards the salvation of the world!
Thank you again for your prayers and love! God bless!
