The word of the Lord came to me: “Go and proclaim in the hearing of Jerusalem: “‘I remember the devotion of your youth, how as a bride you loved me and followed me through the desert, through a land not sown. Israel was holy to the Lord, the firstfruits of his harvest; all who devoured her were held guilty, and disaster overtook them,'” declares the Lord.

(Jer 2:1-3)

Back in the loop. Thank you all for your prayers. The last twenty days have been some of the most incredible days I have ever had. It’s one of those times in life that you can’t help but be overwhelmed with the love and goodness of the Father. Those times that you feel as if you were getting a piggy back ride from God. He was that close. Every day seemed to offer more and more “coincidences” and affirmations that God was with us, journeying with us. I could try to recap, but I would likely not do to well at telling the stories since it has been a few weeks. It’s always amazing to me at how fast we can forget how God has moved in our lives. How fast we forget all the great and amazing things he has given us. Instead we tend to focus on the times that God seemed absent. God does not promise that life will go peachy when you follow him… but he does promise he will be with us, and he does tells us he is good. And when he does show his goodness, you can’t help but close your eyes and stand in awe of him. I suppose this is one of the reasons that even through the New Testament, people of the Bible were continually reminded of how God had delivered them out of Egypt. For my next few blogs I will simply type out some of my journal entries of our days in China. Hopefully they will do best to share a glimpse of how God moved with our team these last few weeks.

God help me never to forget the way you showed yourself daily in China. Help me never to forget how good, and loving, and how freakin awesome you are. Help me never to forget God that you are and always will be my First Love. God help me to walk in your presence daily in the rich and the dry times. Help me to continually raise my gaze to you in whatever I am doing. I love you Jesus…
