The sun finally came out after 6 weeks
of hiding from me. After two weeks of walking in the mud, rain,
wind, snow and cold going door to door, the sun is shining in all of
its glory. It is an amazing feeling to have back. I never knew I
would miss it going on the Race. Being from Florida I really took it
for granted. Sunshine really does make everything better. Just in
time for Easter too.
Easter was Awesome!!! Church was great
hearing life being spoken to the people. It was a nice change from
everything that we had experience with most of the community out side
of our little church family. After church we returned home to lunch
which was almost a disaster.
That’s right, cooked chicken made cold
again and left in the grease and fat. This is a traditional meal
here that they love and did not. God was looking out for our team
because we were invited to another home for lunch which we jumped at
the chance. We were welcomed with a ton of food. Everything fresh
and wonderful. Meats, cheeses, salads and cakes. Then after lunch
we were invited to dinner at another home a few hours later. Again
we were blessed with wondering people and food. To finish the night
off we were invited to cake and coffee. It was great day were God
blessed us with a new family.
The next two days were spent with out
new family in the sunshine having picnics. I was amazed how quickly
these families had welcomed us as their own. They shared everything
with us. We were able to hear their stories, hopes and dreams. It
was awesome. I really felt like I had know these people for years.
Their was so much joy within them. They blessed our team time and
time again and they still wanted to do more for us. It really is an
amazing feeling of love being shown to all of us travelers. It is
something that I hope I carry with me back home.
