"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.”
– Proverbs 3:5-6
First of all, please forgive me for not updating you sooner since I returned to America! I’ve been back for almost two months now and the Lord is already directing me towards a new and exciting path. Since being home, the transition has been tough, and I have earnestly sought the Lord in prayer for His will in what I need to do next in my commitment to serve Him in full-time ministry.
I want to fill you in and cast the vision that’s on my heart now. Before I left for the mission field, and then during my time there, my heart was burdened for children that are mistreated or neglected at no fault of their own. My heart broke whenever I held a malnourished little girl, or spoke with a teenage boy on the streets who came from a broken home. Without our help, innocent lives like these are left by the wayside and they are never shown that they are indeed valuable and matter to their heavenly Father. Along with this, I’ve rediscovered my passion for teaching. So both now and in the future, I want to learn how to combine this passion and the burdens on my heart in order to minister to children and adolescents like this. So that’s where my next step comes in. Lord willing in January, I’ll be joining the Center for Global Action (CGA) to help continue to make my calling a reality. This is an apprenticeship program and is designed for young people like myself who’ve been on the mission field, feel called to full-time ministry, and need further discipleship, mentoring, and guidance to pursue their vision for the Kingdom. And just like the World Race, this ministry is also run by AIM. So there will be continuity in leadership and I would be working out of their office in Gainesville, GA.
As of now, I am committing to 8 months with CGA. This position is support based and will require me to raise $6,500 in funds. So I humbly ask that you would pray about continuing to support me for this next stage of my mission. Donors can continue to contribute to my account in the same way they have been doing so for the past year. I have been honored to have your support in the past and my work thus far would not have been completed without you. And more importantly, I am in continual need of your prayers! This process has not been easy. The Lord has closed many doors, but He has opened new ones elsewhere. As I continue to raise money, move to an unfamiliar place, and abandon more of my own comforts, my faith in the Lord is expanding and I’ve learned to yield to Him and surrender all to Him.
I would love to speak with you more about what’s on my heart and would love to answer any questions you may have. You can get back to me via email, or perhaps we can chat on the phone sometime! My new cell phone number is 413-304-1203. Again, I can’t thank you enough for investing in my life and for your commitment to my vision thus far. I have been blessed to have you in my life and I will never take your love and support for granted! I look forward to hearing from you soon.
For His Renown,
Dan Lidwin
