"Let us not become weary in doing good. For at the proper time,
we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
                                                                                              – Galatians 6:9

Our ministry in Malaysia involved a whirlwind around several parts of the country. We were kept busy with many different tasks, mainly labor-intense and construction projects. The biggest endeavor of them all involved building part of a new church building in Kuala Krie, Malaysia. The pastor of this church has a bold and grand vision for this community, yet he has very few funds available and very few people able to help him.Nevertheless, he has complete faith that God will provide, building a little at a time whenever some funds come in and man-power is available. It was a high honor to be a part of this vision.

We rose early each morning for nearly two weeks and walked down the road to the work site. Our particular task involved constructing a brick wall around the property. So, mixing concrete, sand, and water became a regular part of our routine.Few tools and resources were available, so we learned to make do with what we had. With small buckets of mortar and piles of brick, we chipped away at the job one brick at a time.Even still, we were able to accomplish more than originally expected. Two large walls were completed in a short span of time. The pastor was very grateful and appreciative of the finished product.

Quite often, building the Kingdom of God involves a slow and tiring chapter. We may not see the fruit or the harvest for years to come.It can become discouraging when we don’t see immediate results.I know I myself had to suppress those feelings a few times during our mission. But if we can keep the big picture in mind and trust that God will bless our efforts, we can rest assured that souls will be saved in due time. The Lord promises that if we don’t grow weary in doing good, “At the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”Let’s take comfort in that promise as we seek to be Godly examples in our communities, one small step at a time.

So, we’ve completed our month in Malaysia, which wraps up our ministry in Asia. And now it’s time for Africa! We just arrived in Africa on May 1st and we’ll be here for our final four months until we head home at the end of August. This final chapter will certainly be exciting. The Gospel has been well-received here over the years, so the Holy Spirit is most certainly at work. And my team and I are ready to be a part of it.
