Mozambique? Where should I start. God has been doing so many amazing things here that my brain can not even think of just writing one down. God truly is a BIG God. He dose things that our minds can not even comprehend. For some reason as humans we always seem to limit the power of God. For example, we say “wait God dose not really speak to us,” ” he dose not heal people,” “he is not that powerful.” But God is and dose! He still speaks to us, heals people, and his power is so BIG! We limit what God can do because our minds can not comprehend, or we need an explanation for it. We are a “want to know generation.” But it’s time to get over ourselves and what we think it is right and how God should work!
Anyways, here in Vilankulos, Mozambique we have been working with a church called Jesus for Africa. We have been doing evangelism, visiting the hospital, orphanage, and prison ministry. It has been non-stop ministry this month, but it has been amazing. One song that this place can describe is “God of this City.” I have been a witness to hundreds of people coming to Christ. The harvest is ripe but there is not many missionary’s here. God is at work here with so much to be done. Here are a couple of stories I would like to share with you. They will be in different parts and blogs.
Every 2 weeks we go to the hospital and pray for the sick. One day God was leading my team ( Dan, Becky, and Trish) to the burn unit in the hospital. Before even stepping foot into any of the rooms God stopped us and we prayed for a guy that was standing outside severely burn form a car accident. So we started to pray that God would get him out of the hospital healthy in the next week. But while praying for him he decided to receive Christ into his life. Then we started our way to the burn unit where we went into the first room with about 8 people in it. It smelled like rotting skin. My stomach was turning and I started to feel sick. So I stepped outside with Becky that felt sick too to get air. Then we came upon a little girl that was burned she was only 3 years old. We were so happy to see her and to have an opportunity to pray for her. The doctor had just given her medicine but did not want to take it, so Becky was trying to give it her and she would not take it. Then I tried and she took it with no problem. She was the prettiest little thing ever!
Afterwards, I started to pray that God would give me a stomach not to smell the rotten skin in the room so I can go back in. On my way back Daniel was preaching the gospel and everyone in the room decided to receive Jesus Christ as their savor! Praise God ! Then we started to pray for the for healing. After that Trish had an idea to wash all of their feet and put lotion on them.
One of the guys that I was putting lotion on was severely burned his whole back was burned. We saw him a week ago in floor at the hospital. A couple of the WR’s prayed for him. But then after coming back a week later after cleaning his feet and him receiving salvation his skin was coming back with no scars!!! WOW! God is amazing!
There have been over 100 people receiving Jesus as their save just in the hospital. People being healed all over the place . The ER has been getting more and more empty because people are being sent home with good health. God is truly is good!
