So I finally finished my video for Hungary.  I’m simultaneously happy and disappointed with it.  I’m happy with it because well, goodness.gracious. (and Beautiful Feet) alone can make any video I attempt to put together look good.  I’m disappointed because well, let’s face it, it’s not the greatest.  I had many ideas and visions in my head for this video that were different than just the normal slideshow that I’ve been doing each month but I didn’t have the patience to actually do any of it.  Who knows, maybe I’ll actually learn patience this month and put together something I’m happy with.  Until then, this will do.

But anyway, I wanted to put something together, regardless of if it was spectacular or not to show some of the stuff we did last month.  Last month was different than months prior for many reasons.  We came into the country not knowing where we were going to sleep or who we would even talk to.  We left with memories of a lifetime and family we’ll never forget.  Our month in Hungary had us doing all sorts of things from killing snakes to a little bowling competition against the Hungarians (Americans totally kicked butt!) to coaching American football to Hungarian dancing!  We shared our testimonies more than I could possibly count (okay, so I could probably count if I wanted to but I don’t feel like it) and we just got to really dive in and establish relationships with the people.  This month was by far my favorite month yet.  We saw castles, climbed mountains; I got a fohawk and even got baptized!  This month had a little bit of everything all rolled into one and it was simply amazing.

One of the hardest parts of this video was choosing a song that could properly capture such a crazy month.  I chose to use a song called “Spirit of Truth” by Drew Cline because I felt like it captured the spiritual side of this month that the pictures may not have.  While we did have fun, this month was about much more than that.  It was about more than seeing Hungary.  It was about more than having fun with some people.  This month was about bringing glory to God and further advancing his KINGDOM!!  And I felt like we did that.  In many ways.  But you don’t always see that when you look at some pictures.  So, that’s why I chose the song that I did 🙂  Anyway, that’s enough babble just to say that I threw some pictures and videos to a song.  Enjoy.

So now that you’ve watched that one, there’s a few more videos you should watch.  In fact, you probably should watch them before mine because they’re actually much more profound and better made.  The first one is by the one and only Ashley Higgins.  It’s so amazing that it even made it as the feature video on the World Race page so yea, it’s definitely something worth watching.  The three beautiful women featured–Lindsay, Birkleigh, and Drea–do such a great job sharing their hearts and stories on redemption.  Basically, all four of these girls have significantly impacted my life already and I’m blessed to even know them so you should just watch the video and let their words (and videography skills in the case of Ashley) touch your life too!!

These next three videos are by another amazing women of God who I’ve been blessed to have as a squad leader for the first part of the Race.  Caitlin has an incredible talent and vision for movie making (or whatever the heck it’s called) and she did an amazing job putting together this series on how the K squad views God and his various relationships with us as individuals, the world, and the church.  Caitlin has been such a blessing in my life over the past few months–pushing me to grow and being there to listen when I need it.  She’s been such an encouragement to so many of us (along with Brian and Stacy) and we’re all going to miss them when they leave.  May God continue to bless you in everything you do Caitlin!!  (And you too Brian and Stacy!!)

Anyway, watch these videos.

So that’s about all I have for this time.  Hopefully I’ll actually work on the Turkey video as I go along and make it that much better for next time.
