Ok so maybe I never spoke these words, but some of my squadmates totally did.  When I signed up for the World Race, I never imagined it would bring me to the streets of Northern Ireland cleaning toilets.  That’s right, I spent the afternoon scrubbing the porcelain goddess for the local businesses in Coleraine.  As disgusting as this may sound, it was actually a lot of fun!  Who would have thought scrubbing away crap (literally!) would be so fun?

The point of this service was not to disgust us or cruelly make us aware of the stench of society (yes, terrible pun intended).  It was about making the Lord real through simple acts of service.  It was honestly just about scrubbing some toilets for free all for the glory of God.  We weren’t looking for money; we weren’t looking for prayers.  We were simply looking to bless the people of Coleraine and show them a piece of God’s heart.
