The race brings about so many opportunities. We get to meet people of all walks of life, experience cultures from all over the world, share our beliefs and get to learn all about others, pour into and lives with some great men and women of God, and learn so much about yourself its unbelievable. There is no coming out of this experience without being a completely changed person.
But days like this… are my FAVORITE!
— Days with locals.
— Days seeing sights.
— Days making friends.
— Days at my favorite little place on the corner.
— Days eating local food.
— “Girls Days”
— Days spent driving all over.
This past weekend, in Myanmar, we got to have one of these days. Some of the girls from our English class from this month decided we should have a “girls day.” They picked us up at 10 am, took us to the “cheap market,” showed us temples and sights all over town, treated us to lunch, took us up to see the city on top of the biggest hill in town, hung out with us at our favorite little coffee shop, then met back up with us later and went with us and a HUGE group to the night market. This was the first night market that has happened here so it was QUITE the sight. There were so many people, so much to see, so many booths and loud music.
I love these days because we create deep friendships. We get to see the REAL places we’re visiting. We get to understand and ask all kinds of questions about the culture. We get to be immersed in the culture. We get to share our faith just by being who we are. We get to see the ministry is life and life is ministry. We get to just hang out with some really, really great people. We get to have fun the way they have fun. This is an experience unlike any other experience. I love ((almost)) all the days… but these days… They are my FAVORITE.
P.S. I will share pictures on Facebook or just as soon as I have better wifi.
More stories soon!
