For the last few days here in Lira, we’ve been taking afternoons to go to the local hospital to love on people and pray for healing.  On the first day there we met a man named Maxwell, who had been sick for the past month.  His muscles have been getting weaker and weaker and he hadn’t been able to see/open his eyes for a month.  He and his wife Margeret are both believers and allowed for us to pray for healing.  We prayed and prayed and she said he had been getting a little better.  So today is our last day in Lira and we decided to go to the hospital to say goodbyes and pray one last time over people.  Our first stop was Maxwell’s bed.  We prayed for healing once again, encouraged Margeret to keep praying and declaring the healing to manafest.  Brandon, Lindsay and I went outside to hang out with Nelson (who also has an amazing story that I’ll write about soon) and Katie, Tangi and Braedon continued praying in the men’s ward.  After about an hour, Katie came running outside yelling, “He opened his eyes!  He opened his eyes!  Maxwell opened his eyes!”  While she and Braedon were praying Margaret got her attention and called Katie over and she saw Maxwell with both eyes open and smiling!  Praise the Lord!  His love and grace is enough!  Continue to pray for his full healing to manifest!

*this is the sign off blog for a few days, we will be on a lot of long, bumpy, HOT bus rides for the next few days…pray for grace and favor!  If/when you hear from me again…it will mean that I survived rafting the NILE!!!  Woohoo!  (don’t worry mom, God’s got this!) 🙂
