Crazy week…
So first I’d like to say that Uganda was the country I was most excited about going to…mostly because I’d been here before and I loved it.  I’m still super excited to be here but I’m also realizing that it’s nothing like I expected.  We’re in Northern Uganda in a city called Lira.  We’re partnering with Victory Outreach Ministries, one of the biggest churches I’ve been in here.  Pastor Johnson is awesome!  He is a great man of God and actually knows the Pastor Robert from Jinja the Pastor I worked with last time I was in Uganda!  Turns out they’re great friends and even went to seminary together!

Last week was very much a hands-on labor week.  We painted a school that was starting up this week.  It was very tedious and very hot but it was the work of the Lord none the less.  I didn’t expect to be painting a school at all, I have to admit I expected to be doing more open air crusades and preaching in churches like we did in Kenya.  At first I was kind of bothered that we were painting a school, but after hours of painting the Lord really spoke to me about being His servant.  I’m learning what it means to be a servant of God.  That’s how we got introduced all over Kenya, “This is Cindy, a servant of God”.  So much that I wrote a note in my journal to find out exactly what that looks like.  Basically it looks like Jesus.  As I was painting/praying I was asking God why we weren’t laying hands on the sick and casting demons out and then He reminded me of when Jesus got down and washed His disciples’ feet.  The Lord cares about the heart.  It’s not so much about what I’m doing but more about who I’m doing it for.  The bible says that in ALL that I do, do it for the Glory of God.  It’s so much easier to paint a school in the blazing heat when I’m loving on my Savior as I do it.  It’s almost as if the Lord was preparing my heart for this week.

This week we’ve been doing house to house ministry!  I never really cared for it until last month when Brandon and I went out with Pastor Titus leading people to the Lord and prophesying and laying hands on the sick.  I was really excited when Pastor Johnson informed us that we would be walking around town, going into people’s homes and preaching the gospel.  So many have been saved, healed and encouraged!  I’ve seen God work in so many ways that I now understand what John means at the end of his gospel when he says that if we were to record all that Jesus did there would be enough books in the world!  Just know that God is working.  His Grace is sufficient and my team is closer than we’ve ever been!  Please keep praying for us!  I love you all!
