I am so happy to share with you that I am going on the World Race. The World Race is a missions trip developed by Adventures in Missions for young adults to go into the world and serve “the least of these”(Matthew 25:40). God is working all around the world and on this journey I will be visiting 11 different countries over an 11 month period. My route will be route 2 and it leaves September 2015 and travels to Moldova, Romania, Kosovo, Albania, Mozambique, Swaziland, South Africa, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia. Service in each country may look different, it could include loving and caring for orphans, street evangelism, sharing the gospel with victims of human trafficking, or building houses. We will live with the communities we are trying to reach into with the ultimate hope of sharing Jesus’ love to those who may not know him. I have been wanting to do this missions trip for sooo long, below are some of my reasons for choosing the World Race.
My Top 5 reasons for choosing the World Race!
1. Love God with all your heart.
I became a follower of Christ less than two years ago and I am so thankful that He made himself known to me. He showed me that things like money and school were not satisfying and would only leave me wanting more money, and better grades to boast my pride. By placing friends in my life who were believes in Christ, He showed me I would never be satisfied without Him. Jesus gave up all his riches in heaven and took on the cross to serve me “the least of these” but also to obey God the Father. His sacrifice on the cross showed His love and I want to sacrifice my comforts and come to love God more and more just like my savior!
2. Love others as yourself.
Loving others is what God commands us to do. However sometimes loving others can be difficult for me. The World Race will teach me to live in a way that puts the need and cares of others before myself, just like Jesus did for me!
3.Fellowship
Fellowship is what Jesus prays for several times in the gospels; He intends for his people to be united! One of the focuses of the World Race is developing community among teams. I would love to live in Christian community and grow more with the Lord as I serve along side my team.
4. Travel
I have always wanted to travel the world not just to stay in nice hotels and site see but because I have always been so fascinated by different people and different cultures. I find it amazing that no matter how different we may look or how different our values may be, Jesus loves us all and made us all. I am excited to learn more about different people and cultures and to discover how similar we really are at the core. During the world race I will be living among the people I will be serving and really get to learn about their way of life.

5. Matthew 28:19-20
Jesus commands us to “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Jesus the King of Kings tells us to spread his good news of the gospel to all people in all nations. I want to obey this command.
