A month ago today I spent the weekend in Savannah for Telluride Mountain Film Festival (which was awesome, check them out www.mountainfilm.org, based out of Colorado). The main company that sponsored the festival placed us in a room that overlooked Savannah River. I woke up Saturday morning and turned the television on for background noise and heard someone reporting about snow. I thought, “yeah right, this is Savannah!” Then I opened the balcony doors and well, it was snowing.
Personally, I love snow. I don’t want to live in it, but I do enjoy seeing it. My second week back in the states after returning from the mission trip was spent in Colorado and I was thrilled to have snow and mountains. After spending eleven months in what felt like perpetual summer, snow and cold weather seemed like some kind of miracle. It was even more of a miracle when it started snowing in Savannah.
After the festival I spent a couple days in Atlanta with friends, and then left for Hawaii on the 26th of January. I’ve been here almost a month and I will return to Georgia at the end of March. My daily life here involves my two nieces, my youngest nephew, my oldest brother, and his wife. My brother and his family moved here while I was overseas, and I couldn’t imagine going any longer without seeing all of my family. Life went from snow on the east coast, to sunny and 75 in the Pacific! No snow here though.
So this is a life in Hawaii update, in pictures….

I am getting all the love while I can, because I am heading back out in August to squad lead a mission trip for five months. I won’t know where they are sending me until June. I have to raise $6,500 for this round, and so far I have $5,000 left to raise. Please pray about donating! The link to give is on the left.
Thanks for all your help, prayers, and support.
