First of all let me say sorry that I haven’t posted in awhile and I haven’t finished my 100 day challenge. I will get back to it, I have been helping my mom, We had found out she had what is called a silent heart attack and so then she had a catheter put in and we found out she had 3 major blockages. 100% on one and the others at 90% and 80%. So on Wednesday she had triple bypass surgery. She is doing well and we have many praying for her but surprisingly this blog is not about her. While being in waiting rooms and visiting areas I have had the privilege to pray for people. They didn’t offer up their names but that is ok, they offered up their stories and opened their hearts up for prayer.
One gentle man was in the military and he just came back from Iraq, and our conversation actually started because he wanted to know if he could turn on the tv. All the other visitor areas people were mean to him, didn’t let him turn on the tv and didn’t care. As he came in I said hello and asked him how he was and when he asked about the tv, I told him I don’t mind. I was just sitting on my laptop at the time updating family and friends how my mom was doing. He said that there was something different about me and I told him that it was because of Jesus. We then talked about his friend that was here and about what he just came home from. I prayed for him and his friend and he left with a smile on his face.
There was a family in the Cardiac Surgery ICU unit that I kept running into but they always had a lot of people and where always talking so I didn’t say to much other then hi when I would pass them. Today was different though when I went on my walk and to pop a bag of popcorn I ran into one of them alone and I asked about her loved one, she told me her husband (51 years old)had a pump put in his heart and they believe he is going to pass soon, She asked how my mom was doing and I told her well, I also told her I am sorry to hear about the report and that I am praying for her and her family. She thanked me for even asking and couldn’t believe someone would take time to ask, let alone pray for someone else when they have family in the hospital. I continue to pray for Them and what she doesn’t know is I prayed that God would do a complete turn around in her husband that He would be totally healed and that through this the family will be saved. Just seeing her spirits lift for a second was worth asking, I didn’t want to say the whole prayer out loud because she didn’t seem she could take it if she heard that, when she has already come to terms with him going to pass. I may not know if this man is ever healed, or if he passed but I do know that showing love and compassion in that moment gave her a little peace and joy and showed her that God does care for her.
Our lives are what we make it. Are we showing Love to everyone or are we just letting people pass us by just because we don’t like talking to strangers, in awkward moments or because we are so focused on ourselves. I challenge you no matter what you do in life to find someone you don’t know to show love everyday and if not everyday at least once a week. You will be surprised the stories, adventures God will give you.
If this impacted your life I would love to hear about it, If you would like to partner with me in Prayer or financially to go on the world race please let me know, donate here, or message me. IF You have any prayer request let me know I would love to pray for you.
