Wow.… where to begin?! Training camp expectations totally crushed. The first thing they tell you at training camp is to not have any expectations. Which is pretty tough because in your mind you are coming up with all kinds of scenarios to how the week will go, who will become your closest friends, the food you will eat, the worship, and what team you will end up on. I expected awesome sermons, and we had them, I expected amazing worship, it was amazing, I expected to meet lots of new people and I did, I expected to learn about the countries I would be visiting and I did… I did ALL of these things. But what I did NOT expect was to be totally transformed and changed by the sermons, for the worship to totally wreck me and break me, to meet the most amazing people and to already be calling them family, to learn about all the devastation going on in the countries we will be visiting and to know we cannot be ignorant to them anymore. To know what we know now makes us help responsible to make a difference. There were lots of declarations made over us, about us, and from us. We are a generation that can CHANGE THE WORLD! But if we go to these countries and feed the hungry, clothe the poor, love the prostitutes and build churches and homes without spreading the truth of Jesus Christ then what good have we really done these people? We are here to give them Hope, to tell them they are sons and daughters of God and that in His eyes they are beautifully and wonderfully made. The are Fiercely Loved and Wholly Forgiven! So that when we leave they are changed as we have been.
