Jazz House.  Those are two words, that when I think of them, they make me think of a blues joint.  It makes me think of  a smoky atmospheres and drinks at the bar.  A piano sitting in the corner with a man playing his heart out to what might have beens.  It makes me think of Billy Joels song piano man, stale coffee, and card games through that smoky haze.  The last thing I would think about is a house where 26 girls live to get away from bad home lives. Bible studies on a patio, jumping on the trampoline, or playing soccer in a driveway.  Now let me explain to you the Jazz House.  Josie Long is the daughter of our hosts here in the Phillipines. She started working with some of the girls here doing Bible studies and things like that with them.  The girls she is working with are called Josies Angels.  As she worked more and more with them she realized most of their home lives were not very good.  Most of the girls have been seriously hurt in some way or another,  That is when she decided to do more.  So she got a house and she also got permission to remove some of the girls from their homes in order for them to grow safely in a healthyenviroment.  Thus the Jazz House was born.  If you are wondering about the name it is a combinding of Josie and Angels.  Any way why am I giving you this background well tonight I had the priviledge of going and working with the girls at Jazz House.  Which really means I got to jump on the trampoline, play soccer and kickball, eat supper, and join in on their Bible Study.  Ministry sometimes isn’t telling people about Christ, sometimes it is just hanging out so that you will be their to listen when they are ready to talk.
