China was full of adventure, challenges, and new found joys.  I spent my first two weeks in China learning more about the Chinese through a cultural exchange program at a local university.  I spent my mornings at the university taking classes on the history and language of China, traditional Chinese medicine, calligraphy, and traditional folk music.  In the evenings, we participated in an English program to work with the language major students.  We shared about our culture and lives, and made many new friends through the program.

I also had a great opportunity to share at a government middle school.  The classes were made up of about 70 students.  They were so excited to see American friends, and were eager to learn about our culture, hobbies, and everyday lives.  Shortly after sharing my love for sports, I was challenged to a game of basketball with the boys.  Eeek!  It was a blast.  One little boy tried to teach me to break dance, but  I think he lost hope! J My day ended signing autographs for the students and singing famous Christmas carols together.  What a day!

Team Awaken then headed north seeking God’s direction and pressing in to the Word, soaking in God’s sweet presence.  We found some amazing mountains and I enjoyed several days of hiking, declaring the name of Jesus, and praying the Word over the people of China.  God is moving in our midst.
