Recently, one of my dearest friends, Mrs. Wilson went home to be with the Lord. I rejoice with her in knowing that she is in a much better place now, but my heart is grieved knowing it could be a while before I see her again. Mrs. Wilson, 80, lived a legacy that will never be forgotten. She was so in love with Jesus, and it showed through her every action. She loved her Jesus with the purest and deepest love. Mrs. Wilson had the hugest heart and loved everyone she came into contact with. Over the past few years, she stayed at an assisted living home. She befriended everyone she saw and knew every person’s name on her floor and even some of their stories. She knew how to love others with a selfless love, and even in the midst of her pain, not once would you hear a negative word leave her mouth. She blessed my heart so many times as we would sing praises to our Master and King. I remember staying with her in the emergency room one day reading a book to her and singing with her. Others around her thought she was dying, but instead she was rejoicing in a song. She could tell the best stories and sang the sweetest of hymns. Her presence was simply refreshing!
I struggled being on the race and hearing the news that she had gone to be with the Lord. I so badly wanted to be home to show Mr. and Mrs. Wilson my love. I wanted to honor her by being at her funeral with her family, yet I know she will understand more than anyone that I’m doing the work of Jesus. She always encouraged me to serve the Lord with all my heart, and was a great inspiration in pursuing missions.
I know this is such a small gesture of the honor she deserves, but I would like to dedicate this blog to honor Mrs. Wilson. I will always hold her close to my heart. I pray that one day I will be able to touch people’s hearts with such a pure and true love as she did mine. Thank you, Mrs. Wilson for the woman you were. I love you so much! You have left a mark on my heart that will never be forgotten!
And it shall come to pass, if you will hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord your God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command you this day, that the Lord your God will set thee high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if you will hearken unto the voice of the Lord your God.
Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store. Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out. The Lord shall cause your enemies that rise up against you to be smitten before your face; they shall come out against you one way, and flee before you seven ways.
…and all people of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord.
