-life here in kenya versus life in america: my typical day

-sex, covenant, marriage
these are all blogs that i feel have been stirring in my heart for a while, yet i'm never disciplined enough to sit down and write them out. but these pesky blog embryos just won't go away and i know that once i hit stateside, the outline will turn into a shadow and then a vapor, disappearing into 'never never (will be written) land'. part of me doesn't think it's all that bad to not write them but a bigger part is wary of quenching the Spirit. needless to say, there's going to be a lot of blogging happening in these next couple of days…so let's start with why there's a time crunch.
we're headed back to the states in a couple of days for…(drumroll, please)…a wedding.
yup, a wedding. It may or may not be mine. okay, okay, it is. no, really…it is!* it might (or might not) be a bit of a bombshell to drop but i blame it on my hesitancy to keep my life somewhat private. yet, i feel like i'm holding out on you or that i somehow owe you, dear reader, the announcement of my nuptials. part of me feels a separation between the two, as if life here and getting married are set apart from each other; they aren't intertwined…yet. the reality, though, is that this event is going to change a lot of things about my life and well, it already has. i could write a bajillion blogs about the frustrations/mishaps/funny stories of planning a wedding from another continent. (praise Jesus for the internet) and maybe one of these days i will. i'm not sure how many people would be benefited from it but if you're really curious then i might just tell you.
anyway, that's why the whole team is peacing out for a month. here's what this month is going to look like…
love the mess outta my african family and friends
move (for the third time) to another apartment
head to nairobi
hang out in istanbul
explore the big apple
touch ground on the motha'land
love the mess outta my (new) mexican family and friends
become a wife
become a honeymooner
fly around the world and end up right back here: kenya.
welcome to my first ever documented snapshot moment. what an epic whirlwind it will be!
much Love.
ps- i don't know which of the above blogs to write next, so if you want to read something drop your suggestion in the comment and i'll do it. boom.
*in the words of my neighbor, "christine, you're going to be somebody wife!"
**okay, i may have made that name up right now.
