Friday, one day postop Dad’s counts when down instead of up with all the transfusions indicating that Dad is bleeding internally. The Doctor has told us it appears Dad is bleeding inside his chest and it is filling up with blood causing his left lung to collapse-being unable to open with the blood in the way.
He is still fighting pneumonia and running fevers of 102. His breathing is very labored when his pain medicine starts to wear off and he is on 15 liters of oxygen-the maximum amount they can give him. He is receiving breathing treaetments and as much as they can do medically to help him. Also he states he is in a lot of pain, rating his pain a 45 on a scale of 1-10 last night. They are giving him pain medicine around the clock to keep him comfortable.
We know nothing is too difficult for God and God has pulled Dad through other critical times including the one on July 8-where his blood oxygen levels dropped to 54% on 15 liters of oxygen, and July 2006 when Dad was septic with double pneumonia running temps of 104-105 for 5 days with his counts bottomed out.
We are still waiting on Dad’s biopsy results to come back. They should be back any minute now.
