So its Christmas Eve and were in a safari lodge for dinner. Its kinda of weird being in the southern hemisphere for Christmas because it is so warm. The last few days it hasn’t rained and the temperature is much higher than it was last week. Ministry is pretty slow with most of our partners having off for Christmas, but we always have kids around or something to do in the house.
Probably the strangest thing about being here is there has been no buildup to Christmas. I’m sure all of you have been surrounded by lights and annoying songs since Thanksgiving, but I think I’ve seen a total of two Christmas trees this year, not counting our one we made of construction paper. The biggest blessing in this is that it is impossible to loose sight of the meaning of Christmas without all the things we associate with Christmas pulling us away from Christ.

I’ve got a sash with the president of Mozambique on it. It was a gift last month form Willie P since that was where we were originally going to be this month. It seems strange from an American perspective, but faces here are super important and it is common to see political figure’s faces everywhere. They have them on signs and they also give out clothes with their faces on them.
I also want to take a moment to thank all of my supporters this year. As of now, I have all of my money raised. Praise the Lord!! Your gifts have given me the ability to experience all the amazing things I take for granted every day. There is so much that God is doing all over the world and it is an honor and privilege to be able to have a small part in it. If you still have it on your heart to support me, you can certantly support my teammates Jon Harris, and Brittany Smith as they are still needing to raise money.
