The last few days have been pretty slow. On Friday we visited the chief of the village nearby. We prayed for his family and offered them encouragement on their walk with Christ. It is so cool to meet devoted people in positions to be able to change their surroundings.

Saturday we made a Thanksgiving dinner for Rose and Medoson. We had chicken (turkey is super expensive here), mashed potatoes, rice, and all sorts of good things. Shannon and I made okra. At least half the Americans here had not had fried okra before so it was cool introducing them to American food in Malawi. Medson and Rose loved it too and asked if I could teach them how to make it.

Since then we have been taking it easy and getting ready to travel to Lilongwe where we will get to meet with our squad and others that are flying in to meet us. We are also taking this time to say goodbye to the friends we have made over the last month.

One friend that I will remember is Gypson. He is Willies son and is 14 years old. He fits right into the mold of a lanky 14 year old as he is quite a bit taller than me but hasn’t filled in his frame yet. Gypson comes over every day after school to hang out. His favorite thing is to listen to Michael Jackson’s music. He drew an awesome picture for me the other day.

It has been great to get to disciple him and try to lead him towards God. When we got here he would only go to church sometimes but he says now he wants to join the awesome youth choir there. I hope and pray he continues along the path of the God.

This month has been unforgettable and Malawi is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. This and the fact that Lucas and Robin are amazing photographers means that I think this is the best photo album yet.
