This week we took a couple of days on our way back to Bangkok and stopped over in Siem Reap, Cambodia. This is the home of the famed Angkor Wat temples. This temple area is as large as Manhattan! It was a city within itself hundreds of years ago. The detail of each temple is exquisite and it was all done by hand. Enjoy the pictures of the amazing man made wonder.

This is me in front of “Angkor Wat” the main temple area it doesn’t appear but it is enormous!

A side temple on the way to Angkor Wat
Most of team lego together at 6am (we got there early -5am to be precise – for the sunrise and the cool weather)

Another temple within Angkor Wat

These were all done by hand and they are all different!

The inside of the temple area

Me and Jessie in one of the many doorways

The monks taking a “holiday” to visit the temples. We are always enthralled by monks because they normally won’t speak to women because if they touch us it is a 7 day cleansing process. These men were very friendly.

The Bayon temple ruins. Can you see the faces in the stone?

This is the temple where Tomb Raider was filmed with Angelina Jolie. This tree has grown up on top of the temple. On the other side you can see the roots growing down the building.
