Life in Swazi
God has abundantly blessed us here in the bush in Swaziland.
We are staying on a ranch owned by a local businessman.
We are tenting (camping) on the property and we are surrounded by land where bulls, zebras, giraffes and other animals are raised.
There is an office on the property and there is a toilet, sink and a shower (cold and a little dirty but it works) and we have been using the office to heat water and charge needed items!
We cook on the fire every night (it is amazing what you can cook on the fire).
We have a watchman who guards the property every night from 6pm to 6am and we are able to give him a serving of our dinner every night.
God has given us more than we could ask for!
There are 11 of us here living in community and serving in the bush in Swazi.
We are working alongside team Salt from the January Race team (Candice, Morgan, Emilie, James & Andrew).
One of our concerns with being a team of all girls was the safety issue.
How God has provided again!
We have men to serve alongside with us and a guard every night!
WOW – how He has covered all the details! We thought we were going to have none of these things and we are soooo grateful.
A couple of tidbits of tenting and living in Swazi….
1.
Cows, goats, chickens, donkeys are everywhere!
2.
Chickens & roosters don’t only crow at sunrise but at 1am, 2am, 3am, etc…
3.
You really can cook good food in a cauldron over the fire.
4.
4-5 days without a shower is survivable.
5.
Without television, electricity and lights 8pm is a late bedtime.
6.
Handwashing the laundry isn’t as easy it seems to be.
7.
Every time we travel it is in the back of a truck and we always get many stares (and marriage proposals) – 11 white people in the back of a truck in the middle Swaziland must be a sight!
8.
The bulls join us on occasion for a little grazing next to our tents (see pictures)
Here they are next to my tent!

They are mighty close!
