Our first adventure day in Bulgaria and it set the bar really high.
We wake up at 6am to be out the door by 7, on the trail by 8. I never thought I would every be reminded of home on the race but Eastern Europe has surprised me. Windy roads through the forrest and mountains to a trail that’s all up hill.
Our team went into this hike thinking it was going to be a morning event, we would hike and see some cool lakes and views and life would be grand. But what we didn’t know was that the hike was 13 miles and two miles up in elevation. But we were up for the challenge.
We hiked for about 7 hours, some of us got pretty bad sunburn and my tendinitis in my knees made a return (my 90 year old knees) BUT I would say it was all worth it.
I continue to be amazed at the hidden beauties around the world that God created. Untouched by man (for the most part) and fully displaying Gods creativity.
