This month our m!nistry is to hang out with college kids and help them with their English in the morning and afternoon. Then we teach English to adults and children in the evening. It may seem like easy work on paper but it can be draining! Sometimes I felt like I was constantly pouring out to the people around me, whether it was trying to keep conversation for 2-3 hours or that our schedule runs all day errday. I realized that instead of stressing out about how busy our schedule is I needed to be able to make the most of the time I have here.
Once we had relationships with some of the kids we started making plans with them outside of ministry, we went to see Kong Island, one night we sang karaoke, we took a tour of their college campus, we learned card games they play (which make absolutely no sense), and we laughed SO MUCH together.
It’s been fun learning how to be patient with people when there’s a language barrier, loving them through the conversation and really listening to what they have to say. Being able to see my teammates thrive in different ways has just opened my eyes more to how incredible they all are in different ways.
I always pray that the love of the L0rd shines through is daily, that he is in every relationship we make. That we start to plant the seeds for them to start asking more questions and that we go to Him for the right words to say. He’s always working and always present.
Fundraising Update!! The next deadline is April 30th to be fully funded!! Prayers for me and my team to have all the funds we need by the end of next month would be great!!
