The entire L squad is currently in Hua Hin, Thailand for our second debrief of the year. Our squad coaches, Mike and Patti, are here with us as well. Debriefs are awesome. They are a time to talk through and process the past few months, to worship together as a squad and to talk with squad leaders and coaches as teams and individuals. They are also a time to REST and have fun. The past few nights I’ve been “running amuck” with my wonderful squad mate Alana and our special L squad guest Kayla. It has been ridiculously refreshing to just have fun and be silly. The worship has been incredible as well and I’m just continually blown away by all that God is doing and by the 43 other people on my squad. Basically, debriefs are a huge blessing to us and really keep us healthy and able to do ministry with full hearts for the whole year.
We’ll be here in Hua Hin for six days and then we will spread out again for our third month in Asia. This month is what we call an ATL month – basically a chance to ask the Lord where He is leading us for the coming month. My team is heading back to Siem Reap, Cambodia for a second month. We have been blessed with some awesome community through the international church we are attending there as well as the Filipino team of missionaries we were working/living with. We are excited to go back and continue with those relationships. Right now, we are still individually seeking God on what ministries He is leading us to and at the moment I am feeling that I will be spending some time with the same village from last month and I’m also hoping to help out with an orphanage/school that is nearby. Other than that, I am really just feeling that I need to be a blessing to the international church here (made up of mostly missionaries) and to just make myself available to fill whatever needs I can, so we will see where that takes me. I’ll update more when we return to Cambodia and get settled back into everything there.
