GEORGIA!

Hello, supporters! I’ve returned from my hiatus!! I wish that I had some fascinating explanation for it, but the truth of the matter is, as the race went on…life got more busy, wifi became much more sparse, and quite frankly – the further I got from my last blog post, the harder it became to come back….Hence the long absence. Anywho!

Without further ado, here’s a little update on my life:

What am I doing now?
Late September I packed up my car and made the journey from Minnesota to Gainesville, Georgia – a town about an hour NE of Atlanta – where the World Race’s parent organization (Adventures in Missions) headquarters is located. I was invited, along with 10 others, to be part of a 6-month program called The Fellowship.

What is The Fellowship?
The Fellowship takes emerging leaders and focuses on growth in leadership and professional development while modeling how to live and bring the Kingdom into a professional setting. As “fellows”, we are placed in various departments throughout the office depending on our skill sets, experience and future goals/dreams, and all the while we are being provided mentorship and discipleship.

As a fellow, I also:

  • Have a professional business coach

  • Have a spiritual mentor

  • Am getting connected with leaders in the community to develop my networking skills and advance in my desired career path of [what I think is] corporate consulting and organizational psychology.

  • Am owning and executing major projects in the office, working with senior level management, to get unique experience and guidance

  • Am taking courses in desired areas of growth – Professional Foundations & Discover Your Calling.

  • And so much more!

How did I get here, you ask?
Month 8 of my race (February) I was going about my merry way, no clue what I wanted to do post-race, yet so at peace about it; I was just living the classic world race mindset of being in the “here-and-now”. I was, unexpectedly, invited by leadership to have a discussion with the office about this opportunity, and one thing led to the next. I felt like this was what He had next for me, as it seemed like the perfect stepping stone between the race and whatever direction my professional life was going to take.

Currently…
I am loving this opportunity and am trying to take advantage of all the resources that are right in front of my face. Adventures has an incredibly talented staff, a phenomenal work culture and a community built entirely around Him and sharing His story with the nations.

So, there’s just a start as to what i’m up to! I’m leaving this entry short and sweet, but stay tuned for more frequent (I promise!:) updates on my life here in Gainesville and what He’s teaching me! I could not be happier with where He has me.

He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” (Luke 11:28)

Similar to the race, my program is support-based. If you would like to know more about how you can support me (financially or otherwise), please email me at [email protected]
