As I look back on my time spent in Albania, I am overwhelmed with everything the Lord has done in me. From working in prisons to volunteering at a down syndrome center and hanging out with human trafficked victims, I am blown away at the things I got to experience in this country.
As awesome and cool as it was to do these new different ministries, the most impactful thing we did here was coffee ministry. We went to local coffee shops and just hung out with girls our age. The simplicity of building relationships was the most impactful thing to me. We were building the church. There wasn’t anything fancy or special we did but love on these girls and pour into them. The greatest commandment we were given was to love. Love God. Love others. Because of our love for God, our love for others should be so evident. And that is what we did here in Tirana. We loved on the girls we met in coffee shops and showed them a glimpse of Jesus. We didn’t preach to them or shove scripture in their face, but we did walk alongside of them.
The coolest part about all of this is that I don’t have to go across the world to do this. Every community, school, and church is filled with people who just need to be loved on and poured into. In the grand scheme of things, this side of eternity is short. 1 Peter 3 tells us to suffer for the kingdom. So instead of binge watching Netflix or doing whatever mindless activities I do, I’m learning to live my life on mission and make the days count.
