Thank you to all that responded on Facebook and through my Blog about what you would like to hear about…Here is a response just for you Alaina P., Tom, Dad and Heather’s Papaw…

Kids in Kenya:
* Are educated and joyous
* Like to roll around in dirt
* Have more rhythm at 3 years old than I sometimes have at 23!!
* Afraid, amazed and entertained by Muzugu’s (white people)
* Love hard candy and often have it all over their fingers as they play with my hear and clothes…haha
* Have ridiculously beautiful voices!
* Have met a white person for the first time because of our team
* Wear uniforms to school…any and all schools
* Are so smart!
* Walk to and from school by themselves or on a bus starting at age 3
* Can scream louder than some adults I know

Families in Kenya:
*Are extremely hospitable
* Have the most unique ways of carrying their babies
* Work in markets a lot as their main source of income
* Love their tea time!

Smell of Kenya:
* It’s a mix between dirt and burning trash and hair. The way they dispose of their trash is by burning it…so you can imagine the smell that comes from all of that!
* Thick smog
* In less smoggy and trash-filled areas it smells of freshly-rained on dirt and plants. It’s actually a much better combination than dirt with burning trash and hair! haha
* Hmm…when we get to dancing, sports or just having fun….it definitely smells like good-ol’-natural-B.O…slowly but surely, our team is beginning to add to that natural smell!
* Freshly cooked chapati, lentils, beans, spinach and yummy yummy mango and pineapple! YUM!

Dad:
*I have yet to see the sunrise, but I have seen the sunset and it is gorgeous. It is orange, red and a little bit of purple/brown. You would love it.
* I have definitely felt the dirt between my toes and it usually stays there for a few days. It feels grainy yet so natural hahaha.
* I haven’t heard any of the birds really but I have definitely seen some huge birds that are about 2/3 of my body size when they stand up an sound like a plane as they take off to try to fly! It’s insane!!!

That’s what I have gotten so far! Once I get to internet in Uganda, I will try to post more descriptive blogs!! Thank you all for the inspiration! I love it. Keep sending more!
