I made it safely to Ukraine! The flights were great! I decided I needed to make sure to drink a lot of water and sleep as much as I could in order to feel good through the travel time! And it worked!
We had a layover in Paris and I cannot even begin to tell you how expensive it is there. They are so pricey that they don’t even have water fountains in the airport. That is how they force you to buy water! Well, I didn’t give in! I waited until I got to the plane and got my water there.
Today is my first day in a hostile (community sleeping apartment/area). Basically you rent rooms and/or beds. So, my team is here a long with some other people who are traveling and it is so fun! I am loving living in community already and I am not even with my team yet. Today has been a day for the leaders to get ready for our teams. So, we have been doing things like getting money out of the ATM and exchanging it in Ukrainian currency, figuring out how to get a taxi for 52 people, buying SIM cards for our phones, and contacting our ministry contacts that we will be meeting up with tomorrow.
We have 8 teams. 7 are going to be spread out throughout Ukraine and the other team will be in Romania for this first month. I think I mentioned it before but my team and I will be working with a ministry called Jeremiah’s Hope.
Tomorrow I get to see my team! Be praying for one of my girls. Her luggage has already been lost. Thankfully she is not worried. Just pray that it has arrived to her already (I haven’t been in contact with her since I have been in Ukraine b/c of phone expenses still).
Other than that, all in all, I am doing well! I love my leadership team and we are getting to know each other more and more every day!
Well, that is all for now! Love you guys!
