Yay! I have reached my first $3,000 goal!!!! Thank you family and friends for your love and support! I feel so blessed to have you walking with me in this journey. It truly is a dream come true to have this opportunity and you all are helping me get there. I cannot even tell you the joy in my heart to be able to have you partner with me in this. I must admit, the idea of raising my support for this trip was scary for me because I didn’t know what would happen. But, so far on this journey you all have been so supportive, positive and very interested in what I will experience. Thank you for that.
My desire is to be the hands and feet so that I may come back with a global perspective to share with you all! That is why this blog will be so important while I am out there. I did find out that YES, I WILL BE ABLE TO BRING MY LAPTOP! That means that I will get to blog every day for you all about what I am experiencing!
SO!! Here is my financial update! Now that I have reached my first big goal getting the first $3,000 in now I will be focusing on raising $1,500 every 20-30 days. It is broken up really well for us so that we have monthly goals to raise so that eventually we can accumulate the whole out. Makes sense right?! haha! I will keep you guys posted on where I am at with support raising. I know I do have to reach $8,500 by May 19th so be praying for that please! Again, thank you all!!!
I am planning on doing a garage sell in April to raise some more funds. So, if any of you have anything you would like to donate for my garage sell, I would love that 🙂 Also, if you have any fundraising ideas, I could use the help in coming up with something good!
Also, I met someone finally who is actually on my squad!!! That was a lot of fun and made it so much more real for me. Most all of us are scattered around the U.S. Many of my squad members (65ish of us) are on the east coast, so I won’t be able to meet them in person until training camp on May 22nd.
I did however, also meet a girl who went on the World Race last year! It was so cool talking to her about her experience and how it really changed her life. It is clear that this organizations main focus is following the Holy Spirit in all that they do. Praise the LORD!!! That was the #1 thing that I was looking for in an organization. The World Race is such a dream!!! Honestly! I can’t wait to live alongside people for a whole year through the good, bad and the ugly! I am ready for this collective way of life 😀
Lastly, I just wanted to say that last night at a church service the message was on our . The message was about pursuing our God given dreams. It was such a joy to sit there and listen to a message about how we need to chase after the dreams that God plants in our hearts because I finally am at a place where I can say I AM!!! For so long I would hear messages like that and be saddened because I knew what I wanted to do but the timing wasn’t right. I knew I wanted to get overseas but I didn’t know how, with what organization nor did I know what in particular I would do. I just knew I had the extreme desire and passion. It is remarkable finally having direction! Praise God!!!
