Not every where in the world can you freely share about God in public places. Last month, in Malaysia, my team and I spent the month teaching kindergarten. Because of certain laws in the area we were not permitted to teach about God within the school. So we spent the month teaching english and loving on the kids. If we are not able to tell them about God with our words then we can show them God’s love through our actions. For the few hours a day we got to be with those kids, we showed them love as we taught them English. We did some workbook stuff, played, snack and even put on a skit or two. We taught them with hands on activities as well. We worked on letters, words, math, how to hold a pencil, and some morals, like manners and being nice.
My team and I were also giving the opportunity to help with the kids graduation. It was a blessing to see the joy on the kids face as each kid got to walk across that stage even if it was to say that they were starting a new year in kindergarten. Also to see as each class had a dance for their parents to watch as they were proud to finally dance it for their parents after weeks of practice. Each member of the team got to help out in a different way. I worked the sound. It’s was fun even with the technical problems we ended up with.
Sometimes things don’t work out the way you want it to. But as long you try and you show love in what you are trying to do, then you can’t go wrong. In showing love you don’t always get to see the fruit of what you are doing. Sometimes all you can do is just plant the seed. God will make sure that it gets watered.
Until Next Time.
