This last week was extremely difficult. Working at summer camp and loving on kids 24/7 can be exhausting physically, emotionally, and spiritually. When you throw in constant rain, flash floods, tornado warnings, and power outages to the mix….well, let's just say it doesn't get any easier.
Thankfully, our strength does not come from ourselves. I can assure you that if I was solely working through my own strength and power this last week, I probably would have been done by Sunday evening.
However, our strength comes from the Lord.
Psalm 73:26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Isaiah 33:2 O LORD, be gracious to us; we long for you. Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of distress.
Isaiah 40:29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
Psalm 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.
Each new day, it is necessary to lean on God for the strength we need and I have learned the truth of that statement throughout this last week.
