Life is crazy. Life is busy. Life is insane. Life is exciting. Life is exactly the way I like it to be.
Unfortunately, this leaves little time for blogging! Here's a quick list of 11 exciting happenings in the life of Courtney that you can probably read in 11 minutes. (See what I did there? 11 in 11 🙂 )
1. I've hit over $3,000 in support! Once I've collected all of the money from my t-shirt fundraiser, I will have over $3,500, which is the required amount I need by training camp, which is late October to early November. God has provided 4 months early!
2. So many people wanted to order t-shirts that I had to place a second order! Fund the Nations (the t-shirt company) has been fabulous again, and the new set of shirts will be in soon!
3. The camp where I work is growing! The number of campers that are registered has increased a ton and the staff are so excited! We are even looking for some extra help, whether as an addition to the summer staff or for just a week at a time! (If you're interested, let me know!) God is working in amazing ways!
4. We had grapefruit for breakfast the other morning! In "the real world," I eat half a grapefruit every morning for breakfast. Needless to say, when the kitchen staff set out grapefruits for breakfast, I was stoked!
5. It's the weekend, so I am visiting home and sleeping in my very own, big, fluffy bed. What a blessing it can be sometimes!
6. Next week is our very first week with our own campers! The past two weeks, we have been helping run activities for another camp that is renting out our facilities. The staff are so excited to get to have our own cabins full of campers starting Sunday! Yay for teens (and there are a lot of them)!
7. The weather has been pretty cool around here. We've only had a handful of days that hit over 80. This has been great because the staff have been staying in AT shelters (3 sided shelters with the other side wide open to the great outdoors). It's heating up, but now the staff will be moving into cabins with air conditioning! Praise God for knowing exactly what we needed!
8. Last weekend, I got the opportunity to have a phone date with one of my old roommates. Yesterday, I got a package from another old roommate, and a postcard from the third one. These girls are and have been such a blessing to me!
9. My car, Bessie, was starting to rattle again. For those of you who don't know, that poor girl has been through a lot lately and she is continually breaking. I thought it might be another big problem. Good news: my dad checked last night and it was just an extra nut from the last time she got fixed that was stuck under the hood and rattling around!
10. One of the girls I work with lives by the dum-dum factory. She brought me an entire pack of mango flavored ones. I am in heaven.
11. We got our prayer bracelets! One of my favorite traditions at camp is that we all get a bracelet with a staffer's name on it. Whoever's name is on your bracelet is the person you commit to praying for specifically for the entire summer. It is kept secret until the very end of camp. Shout out to the person's name on my bracelet! Know I'm praying for you everyday!
Hopefully you've made it through my jumbled mess of a blog! Have a blessed week!
