Over the
past few weeks, I have been attacked with several of Satin’s lies that attempt
to separate and conquer me. I truly love my new community in Gainesville,
Georgia. I am surrounded by Christians who live out their faith and both
challenge and encourage me. As great as that is, the past few weeks have not
always been smooth and wonderful. The devil knows what God has planned for me
and he has been doing all he can to stop me.
Neil
Anderson writes in Victory Over the
Darkness, “The major strategy of Satan is to distort the character of God
and the truth of who we are. He can’t change God and he can’t do anything to
change our identity and position in Christ. If, however, he can get us to
believe a lie, we will live as though our identity in Christ isn’t true.�
During this challenging
time, I am seeking to hold on to my identity and to soak in the Lord’s love for
me. I have been trading lies for Truth. One of my favorites is this: I am accepted, chosen and loved by
God and nothing else matters!
God is
enough… I do not need God plus passion for Kenya or God plus the acceptance of
others or even God plus an explanation of His timing and His plan for me… JUST God is enough!
