During the month of June my team and I partnered with Deliverance Church of Lang’ata, a suburb of Nairobi, Kenya. We did a variety of things so here is a summary of our Kenya Ministry:

Climb Ngong Hills with the Youth from Deliverance Church and speak to them about purity

Participate in Wednesday prayer meetings, lifting up individuals, the church and the nation of Kenya as they prepare to vote on a constitution

Door-to-door evangelism in National Housing (the apartments where we lived for the month) and invite people to Deliverance Church (I witnessed someone accept Christ in Kswahili and 2 families I invited became church members)

Teach Bible lessons at local public school every Friday morning (this was one of my favorite things…being a teacher!)

Visit a girl’s school, share my testimony and hear them sing

Help lead Weekend Challenge (seminars and speaking at a school)

Speak at a church in Kiberia Slums and street evangelism there (Ever since the first time I visited Kiberia Slums, 5 years ago, I have wanted to minister there)

Encourage teachers with testimony, music, message and treats (a teacher thanked me afterward, saying she is not appreciated by parents and is rarely encouraged by anyone)

Paint caretakers house and other parts of the church

Kid’s Fun Day for children in the National Housing

Evangelize at Nairobi University of Business, lead a small group and speak and lead music in their Friday night service
