To the men of G-squad,

Thank you.

Yesterday we watched each of you stand before a group of Honduran teenage girls, who have been deemed unfit to even live on the streets. Girls who come from backgrounds I can't even begin to wrap my mind around.

You told them they weren't destined to follow in the footsteps of the women before them who fell into abusive and damaging relationships with the men in their lives.

You told them they are women of strength and dignity (Proverbs 31).

You told them that they have a heavenly father who desperately, desperately loves them and will do anything for them.

You told them they have a future, a plan, and a purpose. (Jeremiah 29:11).

I think yesterday, maybe for the first time in a long time, many of these girls felt beautiful.

And speaking as a woman of G-squad, those words fell upon our hearts as well.

You stood before them and told them they were perfect.

You apologized for the men who have hurt and abused them, the fathers who abandoned them, and for the lies they have been fed their entire lives by boys who call themselves men.

Because these same fears, lies, and scars have damaged more than just those young Honduran girls.

Judging by the state of our broken world, I would venture to say most women don't even know what being beautiful really means anymore.

Today, I think i'm one step closer to understanding.

I am so honored to work alongside each of you, and be able to call you brothers and friends.

You are men of strength, honor, and well…you're just freaking warriors. I can't wait to see all that you do this year.

The world could use more of what you have. I'm praying for it.

Love,
A thankful sister of G-squad
