Have you ever heard the song live like you were dying by Tim McGraw?
Well I know I’m not dying but for me, going away for a year is a big deal. And right now I can relate to it by trying to live to the fullest by investing in relationships and making some great memories before I leave.
I was never a camp kid and I even lived at home all through school. (Which I’m very blessed for) Anyway, what I’m trying to say is that right now as I prepare to leave for 11 months I’m learning how important relationships are. A. I. M. encourages us to build a strong support/prayer/encouragement team for when we are out on the race. This is because there are going to be so many “up” moments but also many “down” moments and it’s going to be helpful to know that we are being lifted up in prayer at home as well. So right now God is showing me that relationships are a two way street and that I need to put in effort to help make it awesome. Since I’ve been off work this month, I’ve had the chance to hangout with some of my amazing family and friends. I’ve seen our relationships grow deeper and become much stronger. I’ve also been given some great verses to take with me, as well as donations to help me reach my final goal. Needless to say I’m beyond thankful for all these encouraging people God has placed in my life. My support team is huge and this gives me great comfort as I take this giant step of faith out into the big scary world. I believe this time of working at relationships is preparing me for what a huge part of the race is going to be. Everywhere we go we will be meeting new people and spending time creating new friendships. My prayer is that God would shine through me with every person I meet.
Deuteronomy 31:8 says “The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
This verse is so comforting and one that I will be keeping close to me throughout this big adventure.
Thankyou for following me on this journey, for supporting me financially and for lifting me up in prayer. There are no words to truly express how thankful I truly am.
Praise report!! I am almost fully funded!! The Lord is so good! I’m in awe of his provision in my life in more areas than just finances.
Prayer request: this week is the launch financial deadline of $10,000 and some of my squad mates have not yet met that goal. Please keep them in your prayers as they work towards reaching this deadline.
Also if you could pray that the stress of getting packed and preparing for this trip wouldn’t be too overwhelming.
Thankyou for ALL your support!
Until next time
