This week, we drove three hours to a remote village in the mountains of Tanzania. Here we helped build a church and preached to the people of the village, including the Masai. To give you a better idea of what a typical day of ministry in Tanzania looks like, here's our story in pictures…

7am…

I wake up to under a mango tree, with the light streaming in from between the leaves!

8am…

Breakfast is served by these two wonderful women, Zeeta and Stella.

9am…

We walk, in our skirts, to go "build a church". We weren't quite sure at this point what exactly that meant. But we wore shorts under our skirts just in case!

10am…

Started moving bricks from the "brick factory" (Haha) to the site of the church, loading them into a cart.

11am…

Still moving bricks…

12pm…

Done for the day, but completely covered in red brick dust!

1pm…

Shower time! (in the river)

2pm…

After lunch we walked to a Masai village in the scorching Tanzanian sun! (We were all sweating buckets and praying the God would refill our water bottles!)

3pm…

Sarah spoke at the church service in the Masai village.

4pm…

I met a Masai woman named Rosemary. Then we went to her home and met her children.

5pm…

Walked back to our Mango tree and rested from the long, hot walk.

6pm…

Dinner time! Which included some antelope meat!

7pm…

Twilight church service.

8pm…

Worship time in the dark…surrounded by village kids!

9pm…

A wonderful end to the day in the book of Luke! And early to bed to do it all over again in the morning 🙂
