Tuesday we wake up go to breakfast and prepare for our last scheduled day of ministry. Quite honestly we weren't exactly excited but we put on our positive pants and jumped into our van with lunches in hand.
We get to the village, where a ton of children meet us. We gather them and anyone else we can find and David preached on the prodigal son then we all sang and danced with the children.
Then we move on to the next area where Mickey preaches on the cross. We play with the children and talk to the adults and then I closed us in prayer. By then it was 12:30 – lunch time! We head go to eat.
But then one of the pastors says, "hold on, these ladies want to be prayed for." Okay cool. We all walk back through her gate and into the back yard where they lay mates for us to sit on. I felt it as soon as I walked back there, and I didn't like it. We say a few words and then the women that want prayer come and kneel before us. Nothing abnormal.
Jake and I were tag teaming it then our line was finished. Mickey and Channele had one left so I started playing with the kids again. The woman goes down, yelling in terror and thrashing around. Demon. Seen that before. Taralah and I drop what we are doing and jump up to help. We've both experienced this before and both have powerful gifts so we come to help Channele. Tongues of all languages are in the air, earthly and heavenly. It doesn't want to come out, fighting hard as her body is getting jerked in all directions, we hold her down. Finally! We have VICTORY! The demon has fled her body and spirit!! She's sitting up, arms in the air worshiping the God that just delivered her. She thanks us but it wasn't us we were just obeying the Spirit. One word would describe that moment
FREEDOM!!
When we start to leave, Channele has a word for her. She encourages her and then has her lift her arms and start declaring over her body and spirit! It was such a beautiful moment! After that we find out that this woman was a WITCH DOCTOR!! A Witch Doctor came to Christ! What a wonderful day!
We leave with our Spirits filled and joy on our faces and tears in our eyes. Thats exactly how the three of us wanted to end. We needed that so desperately. Such a blessing for 5 of my teammates who'd never experienced that before. Man the Spirit was moving!!
Now it was time for lunch and Shekinah Girls day out before meeting the men for dinner.
The four of us, Jordan, Taralah, Channele and I, walk to town and on the way we see a young man wearing a vest. Perfect! Mickey has been looking for one for his debrief outfit. We ask the young man if we can buy it off him. It's the African way. Happy as a clam, we purchase it and head for lunch.
We enjoy our pb&j sandwiches, chips, apple and a coke before we head to the thrift store. After the adventure of trying to find something ridiculous for final debrief dinner we split up. Jordan and Taralah went souvenir shopping while Channele and I were still in the hunt for the perfect outfit. We start walking uptown where all the little shops are. Being girls and having fun. Meeting shop owners and sitting and chatting with them.
We only have a few shops left when a gentleman taps me on the shoulder and tells me that we're being followed by a theif and to be careful. I thank him. We only have a couple shops left so we zip in and out while praying the blood of Jesus over us. Then we both look at each other and say let's get outta here and fast! We get to the road and we look for bicycle taxis but don't see any. Channele goes let's knock on this cars window. Okay let's do it.
It's a young middle eastern lady, we ask her if we could pay her to take us to where we were going to meet our team. She hesitates….and now the traffic is moving….. She sighs "okay get it." We jump in real fast and then her phone rings and she's chatting. In the mean time I notice what's playing on the radio ….. "Worthy is the Lamb seated on the throne. We crown Him now with many crowns He reigns victorious. High and lifted up. Jesus son of God. The darling of Heaven crucified. Worthy is the Lamb"…… I knew in that moment that this was a gift from my Daddy 100% protecting His daughters.
After she gets off the phone I start talking to her and asking her questions. Starting with her music of course. Which of course leads us into a conversation about the Lord. She's Indian, Scottish, Malawian CHRISTIAN! How rare is that?! We told her about what happened and that she literally was a gift from God and a divine appointment. She teared up when we told her that. I think she needed us just as much as we needed her that day.
What a great day!! And we end it with pizza with our team! God is so GOOD ALL THE TIME!! He takes care of His children and He loves us so much!
I'm so grateful that we got to end on such a good note!
Thank you Daddy!
