Let's just say that it's so nice to have my team back together again. Womanistry was awesome though, don't get me wrong; it's just good to feel at home again.
Finally in Africa! The place that felt like light years away is finally here!! We've been with our contact for a week now. We are in Nakuru, Kenya! Probably the most beautiful place in Gods creation that I've ever seen with my own two eyes. **I wrote this on the 3 hour bus ride to Nakuru** Words can't do this justice. Clouds covering the mountains in the distance. Green grass, fields and trees everywhere. Bluest skies you've ever seen and it looks like it will never end. Cool breeze hitting my face through the window. Shepard's herding their sheep. Children playing. It's official I'm in love and I'm not even off the bus yet. ** The beauty alone of this land made me cry almost the whole bus ride. He's been giving me and others a lot of words about this month and it was in that moment that I knew my life was to be completely changed all over again.
We live with Pastor and his wife Ruth and their two children Tim (7) and Tiffy (4) along with Joyce who helps Ruth out around the house. It's the first time we've experienced living with a family on the race. Wow! Has it been a blessing to all of us! Plus having our family back together. It's been so wonderful!
For the past 4 months we've only had one month where we got to be with children. This month we have them everywhere even at home! The first time we went to the church to work, children came out of no where! We played with them, they helped us with our work and we just loved on them. Little Dillion has become my little 6 year old best friend. I needed these children in my life. I was becoming so dry and as soon as 10 little kids came running up to us my cup was filled again. Last night Tim asked me to tuck him into bed, you have no idea what that did for my heart. I love those two kids and this family so much. Leaving on May 31st is going to be one of the hardest events on the whole race. Not just this family and ministry but this country.
I'm in love with Kenya!
