Vietnam – Month 6

What exactly did we do this month? Well that’s a very good question…. haha
This month was devoted to ministering to the deaf, university students and the local community. We spent time going to coffee shops and talking to the students that hung out there, building relationships. We spent a lot of time working with the deaf community, which is an outcast community because of their differences. A local ministry called Bread of Life (restaurant) employeed the deaf so we spent a lot of time there talking to them. Luckily for me I know enough ASL to communicate with them but they taught me so much more!! We also went to their church and worshipped with them. I wish you could have experienced the rare beauty, realness and intimacy of worship to our Lord without using any words! I was so moved that I was in tears! They taught us so much (without their knowledge) about how important actions are and how important our words are. Sometimes you just need your actions to express how you feel. Also, that your words mean a lot to someone, words can either lift others up or tare them down! Do your words lift people up?

Now I say this a lot but don’t have expectations!!!! lol Because this month we didn’t expect our main ministry to be to our contacts. Three young people, Ky (18), Thao (20) and Tram (21) who love the Lord and want to serve Him.

We spent a lot of our time pouring into their lives. They became part of our family and we will never forget them! I miss them dearly already. Ky became my little brother, which is funny because he reminds me a lot of my brother Alan. haha He trusted me with his struggles and his dreams as the Lord gave me the words and wisdom that he needed. Pouring into his life was what the Lord had for me this month and in all that pouring out the Lord kept on filling my cup too! I grew more in Christ this month! More time with Him. more soaking, more talking, more worship, more intimacy and more of Him!

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you, wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

“Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.”
1 Corinthians 16:13-14

The key to ministry is to not have expectations, allow God to move and direct your paths. Be watchful for the things of the Lord, he’ll show you who and where just listen.

These two verses have been my go to lately with this final deadline breathing down my neck. Be strong, Courtney! Be courageous, Courtney! Don’t be afraid, Courtney! I’m with you, Courtney! Stand firm in your faith Courtney! I’ve got this Courtney! I know and have faith that Daddy has my back. He owns cattle on a thousand hills and this $2,000 is nothing to him.

Please pray about supporting me monthly or one time donations. If I don’t get this money in I will be going home! I need your help!!
