Last month we didn't get a lot of interaction with kids (with the exception of Breezy for 3 days) and if you know me well at all you know how much I love children. I also have the gift of teaching and I enjoy every moment of it. With all that being said this month is filling my cup!! With all that being said Let me share with you a little bit about this month……
Cambodia….month 5 of the race and second month of being apart of Somewhere Beautiful. We asked the Lord to give us a month where we don't move around much and more time to get to know each and grow as a team. Well the Lord answered our prayers! We are living in a 4 room house, cooking for ourselves, electricity only 3 hours every night, no running water, hotter than you could image, and mosquitos & ants on steroids.
We teach two English classes every day which we split up amongst the seven of us. Nathaniel, David and I teach the older kids in the late afternoons. While the other 4 members of our team teach the little kids in the early afternoon. In the late morning we are building a fence around the pond. Every other day 2-3 people take a ride in the tuk tuk to the market to buy groceries because we can't keep food fresh for very long.
I'm loving this month…. It really feels like I'm on the race more than ever before. Having more time than ever with the Father and really growing in Him. Using the gift of teaching and the gift of compassion and love for the young people of this world that He gave to me has been indescribable and we've only been here 5 days.
He's been teaching me so much in the last few days! These kids are precious and even though we can't communicate with our voices very well we can still communicate LOVE! We already have many many stories to share and I can't wait to share them all with you…. Coming soon 🙂
